Safety
When you're on the slopes, you can have fun, but don't take any risks. Respect other skiers and everyone around you. By following these simple rules, both you and everyone else can have a great time on the slopes. Always keep them in mind and remember to use your head! And talking about heads, ski helmets are mandatory on the slopes fore everyone under age 18 and strongly recommended after. (Art. 17 of the Legislative Decree No. 40 of February 28, 2021)
The ten golden rules of conduct for all skiers and snowboarders:
- Respect for others
A skier or snowboarder must behave in such a way that he or she does not endanger or prejudice others - Speed control and personal conduct
Each skier or snowboarder must maintain and adapt his or her manner of skiing or snowboarding according to his personal ability and the current slope conditions, visibility, weather conditions and traffic density. - Choice of direction
A skier or snowboarder coming from behind has the possibility to choose his route in order to avoid skiers or snowboarders ahead. - Overtaking
A skier or snowboarder may overtake another skier or snowboarder (if there is sufficient space and visibility) above or below, to the right or to the left provided that he leaves enough space for the overtaken skier or snowboarder to make any voluntary or involuntary movement. - Entering onto a slope or intersection
A skier or snowboarder entering onto a ski slope or entering after stopping, must make sure that he or she can do so without endangering himself or others; the right of way at an intersection must be given to those coming from the right side or according to specific directions. - Stopping
Unless absolutely necessary, a skier or snowboarder must avoid stopping on a slope in narrow passageways or where visibility is restricted. If a skier or snowboarder has to stop, he must stop on the side of the slope. If a skier or snowboarder falls on the slopes, he or she must clear the slope as soon as possible. - Climbing or descending on foot
If absolutely necessary, a skier or snowboarder can climb up or descend on foot by staying along the side of the slope. - Respect for signs and markings
All skiers or snowboarders must respect all signs and markings on slopes and all skiers and snowboarders under age 18 must wear a helmet. - Assistance
If an accident should occur, every skier or snowboarder is duty bound to assist. - Identification
Every skier and snowboarder, whether they are a responsible party of an accident or a witness, must provide their name and address.
